it's the little things that matter most, Happy 2nd Birthday Gracie!

I find it funny how as we get older our birthdays are judged by what big gifts we buy each other and how big of a party you can have when as a child it was the little things that made for such a great day. In our family we have always had birthday weeks (3 days before and 3 days after) during your week you get whatever you want for dinner, don't have to do any chores and the family activities are your choice not to mention a gift everyday. Well today was Gracie's 2nd birthday and she got all that and more. When Jake left for work this morning he gave her a big princess balloon. She was SO HAPPY! She loves balloons! The balloon went with her everywhere today. Next she got to watch her choice of cartoons with Ethan while I made breakfast.
We sang happy birthday to her with a candle in a cinnamon roll. She loved it so much we had to sing over and over and over again, I also had to re-light the candle each time.

Later for lunch she wanted the candle and her song again. Ethan gave her a kiss told her he had a very special gift to give her later. After she blew out the candle she gave him a great big hug!!

On to dinner where you guessed it we sang to her with another candle. This time she clapped for us when we were finished.

What would a birthday be without ice cream!? Of course there was a candle and more singing.

And what would my day be without Gracie getting into something. Here she is showing me the beautiful silver marker she just used to color all over herself.
Next it was on to the potty, no I haven't started potty training her she just likes to pretend before she gets in the bath like Ethan.

After bath I realized I hadn't taken a cute birthday picture of her so I tried........but she was more into Ethan then taking a picture. She tried so hard to sit still but it just wasn't in the cards.

She wanted the camera so I let her take a few pictures, I love how you can see her little finger in the corner.

Ethan's birthday gift to her........she got to sleep with him!

One of the many times we sang happy birthday to her!

So that was her day and I'll bet if she could she would tell you it was the best day ever! She got a balloon, we sang happy birthday 300 times, she ate anything she wanted, played all day and then fell asleep next to the most important person in her life, her brother!

Happy 2nd Birthday Gracie Lane Marie Hendrix!!!
